We are a restaurant dedicated to making you have an amazing Korean BBQ and street-food culinary experience. Oma (Mama) came here as an immigrant from Korea in 1977, and had dreams of owning her own business. Growing up, her mom passed away at the early age of 7 so she had to learn how to cook and farm for the family of 8. With the expertise of Hataboge (Grandpa) and Step Hamony (Step-Grandma) she learned how to cook from rock kitchen and farm fresh veggies, poultry and etc. All our food is how Korean food was made authentically the old school way, with hard work, love and smiles.

Our story begins in 2003 in an inner city Detroit Korean mall called 7-Days West, where with one stand next to the barber shop, we sold bulgogi, yu-kae-jang (spicy brisket & veggie soup) and red hot sausages (mustard & onion my fav). Some of the best times of our lives. We then moved to East Lansing on the campus of Michigan State University in 2007. Emos Korean BBQ-we are the first Korean BBQ to use infrared grills and do AYCE in Michigan. Great times and watched many kids grow up. In 2016 we moved to Cascade and opened Emonae Korean BBQ to enrich the Korean culture here in West Michigan-Grand Rapids. Now by the blessings of God, K-Rok Korean BBQ and Karaoke Soju Cocktail Bar is here downtown to provide an indulging, immersive experience in Korean cuisine the way your Korean Mama (Oma) makes it.
